Syria, Indian firm sign deal to expand Tishrin Power Plant

Syria’s Public Establishment for Electricity Generation and Transmission (PEEGT) has signed a EUR 300m ($445m) contract with the Indian company Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) for expanding Tishrin Power Plant by 400 MW.

Based on the contract, Tishrin plant plans to add two units of 200 MW capacity each, expected to be completed in 33 months by the Indian company

BHEL was established more than 50 years ago. It is the largest engineering and manufacturing enterprise in India in the energy-related and infrastructure sector which includes power, railways, telecom, transmission and distribution, oil and gas sectors and many more.
